FOUNDATIONSa bit about me
Music has always been the through line, starting first at the piano, then moving to viola, and eventually expanding to everything at once. What began grounded in classical technique and discipline has grown into something wider, moving between disciplines and collaborations, exploring the connections between concert halls, classrooms, and more experimental spaces.
My work sits in that in-between, balancing performance and education. I’ve directed ensembles, taught in schools and music studios, and collaborated across chamber, choral, and improvisatory projects. Now, I’m intentionally focusing on performance as a central part of my career, seeking high-quality, meaningful spaces to share music while continuing to collaborate and develop original work.
PRACTICEstudio time
Performance and teaching have developed alongside each other in my work since 2012, shaping a practice that moves between rehearsal rooms, classrooms, and live performance. This has included directing ensembles, working as a Teaching Artist, maintaining a private studio, and performing both solo and in ensembles, across instrumental, choral, chamber, and collaborative projects.
In recent years, my focus has shifted more intentionally toward performance, with an emphasis on collaborative and exploratory work.
current projects
I’m consistently engaged in a wide range of musical and creative projects, both onstage and within the community. Currently, I perform as a violist with the Midcoast Symphony Orchestra and serve on the board of directors at Midcoast Music Academy.
Alongside this work, I collaborate on a variety of performances and events. Recent projects include playing in the pit for Camden Hills Regional High School’s production of Into the Woods, performing with a string quartet for the Midcoast Community Chorus winter concert, and presenting a solo piano set for a benefit dinner hosted by Camden National Bank.
PROJECTSI’m always open to new opportunities, particularly those that bring people together in creative and unexpected ways. I’m especially interested in interdisciplinary collaborations that foster connection, expand access to the arts, and build vibrant, community-centered musical experiences.
KIND WORDS“Thank you, once again, and these amazing performers. I do have to admit that I have been completely undone by that viola.”
“Abi is incredibly knowledgeable about her craft. She has a wide array of experience not only with strings, but piano, voice and woodwinds. From an interpersonal standpoint she is a pleasure to work with, and I always feel comfortable in the environment she creates. I will absolutely continue working with her for the foreseeable future.”

Parallel Work: design for musicians & creatives
Alongside my music practice, I create design work for musicians, artists, and fellow creatives, building visual identities, websites, and digital materials that support collaborative work.
